DESIGNER
- HIDEO SHIMIZU -

Hideo Shimizu, the founder of JAXSON,
was enchanted by Italian luxury furniture in the 1970s and went alone to Milan.
However, after studying interior design for two years,
he was overwhelmed by the profound historical depth of Europe.
He pondered what he could design as a Japanese.
During his times of struggle, he dreamed of returning to Japan and taking a bath.
The pleasure of letting the water overflow from the tub and soaking up to the shoulders was something Shimizu rediscovered as a rich part of Japan's enduring bath culture.
Unlike European bathrooms, which are merely part of a building's facilities, he aimed for bathrooms that serve as part of the interior.
Shimizu decided to create a bathtub that
would appeal to the world.

In 1982, JAXSON was founded as an interior manufacturer led by designers.

Since then, Shimizu has designed all of its models.
The spirit of enjoying Japanese bath culture is expressed in new designs, and the products are manufactured with meticulous quality control.
This process is filled with craftsmanship and pride in being Made in Japan.

The driving force behind this has been encounters with some of the world's top architects and designers. They consistently present creative and stringent requests.
By reliably meeting these demands, a strong mutual reliance is formed.
Through this cycle, JAXSON continues to evolve as a global brand.
